Layni J 2nd Birthday
For Layni's second birthday this year we had a Minnie Mouse party. Layni has been loving Minnie Mouse lately and so it was decided that would be the theme of her party. She could not stop talking about her "Minnie Mouse party" a couple weeks before and many weeks after her party. We did the red and white Minnie Mouse, which is really hard to find. Most places only have the pink and white. I had found on Amazon balloons, napkins, cups and confetti for the cupcakes that were red, white, and black and shaped like Mickey Mouse. I made the cupcakes and I think they turned out really good. Kristen made the adorable cake pops and Tami made her darling invitations and her shirt. We had 31 people in our tiny house, but it turned out great! I am so grateful to have so much love and support in both of our families. We are truly blessed.
Merry Christmas 2013
Christmas was really fun this year! Layni understood a little what was going on. She kept talking about Santa Claus, although she wouldn't sit on his lap. When asked what she was going to ask him for Christmas she would say a baby, minnie mouse and a hippo! We weren't sure where the hippo came from but Santa came through and brought her one.
I have a Nativity that she could play with and she would point out who every one was. She thought the 3 wise men were Santa Claus I think because of their beards. I would tell her they brought gifts to baby Jesus so they were a little like Santa. She would tell you that baby Jesus was born under a star and that Mary and Joseph were his mommy and daddy.
We had a lot of fun Christmas parties and breakfast with Santa was fun, as usual. We met in Salt Lake the night before and walked Temple Square, which is always so pretty! Then we stayed the night at the Radisson. I love this tradition and look forward to it every year.
