Sunriver Oregon

We had so much fun in Sunriver with the Lucas family. We went to a lava cave, biked every day, swam at the pool, kayaked, ate A LOT of food and visited with family! It was really fun to see all the family that we don't get to see that often. We celebrated my moms 60th birthday with a root beer float party and a fun program. I hope to go back there again.

Canoeing Sand Hallow Reservoir

We enjoyed a fun day with family at Sand Hallow Reservoir over Memorial weekend. My Grandpa brought his canoe out. I haven't been out on the canoe for a long time and had so much fun!

Moab 2011

This year we went on 3 rides: Tusher Tunnel, Steel Bender and Fins and Things. Awesome rides and beautiful scenery!!

We had a fun time celebrating Cole's birthday at our house with both of our families. I made a double-layer chocolate cake, which turned out really good!

Moab 2010

We just got back from our annual trip to Moab. We always have so much fun on this trip! This year we went on a ride called Poison Spider, which is all slick rock and the views are so pretty. When you reach the top you can see Moab Rim, so we sat and watched a couple Jeeps climbing to the top. The second ride is called Kane Creek. This was the 3rd time we have done this ride and it never gets old! It is especially fun on a hot day because you ride through several creeks along the way.

Maui - Day 5 - Haleakala

Our last day in Maui we went to Haleakala Crater. It is 10,000 feet above sea level and above the clouds and there is still 19,000 feet below sea level. The views up there are what you see from an airplane. It was awesome! We were told it's colder up there and it sure was!

Maui - Day 4 - Flyin Hawaiian Zip Line

The Flyin Hawaiian Zip Line was a 3 mile course, which 1/2 mile was walking. There were 8 zip lines total and the longest was, I think, about 2600 feet. It took about 60 seconds to zip that one. It was really fun and, of course, the views were amazing! Haleakala was straight across from the zip line, and we could see both sides of the island at one point. We had to check in at the Maui Tropical Plantation where we got our fresh pineapples to bring home.

The Banyan Tree

This tree is called a Banyan Tree, it's in Lahaina, and it's one of the coolest trees I have ever seen. The base is where Cole and I are standing and it spreads over at least 1 square block. I don't know the exact size of it but it's huge! The pictures don't do it justice but you can kind of see from the picture I took from a distance just how big it is.

Maui - Day 3 - Whale Watching

Our 3rd day in Maui we went to Lahaina to go whale watching. We got some really cool video! We saw 2 whales within 15 minutes after we left the marina. There was 1 whale that stayed and played around our boat--breeching several times--for at least 30 minutes. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen!

Maui - Day 2 - Pool and Beach

Day 2 in Maui we went shopping at Whalers Village and to the pool and the beach. The water was about 70 degrees and wonderful! Again, we had great weather!

Cole and I had so much in Maui! The weather was beautiful the whole time we were there! Our Hotel was very nice and we upgraded to a partial ocean view room, but it was worth it. The Luau was really fun. They cook the pig in the ground all day and pull it out at the Luau.

Moab 2009

Wow, it's been a few months since I have posted anything on here. I have been facebooking it lately. We had so much fun in Moab this year! We got poured on 1 day for about a 1/2 hour, but the weather was great after that. The scenery in Moab is amazing!!

Tubing and the snow scooter

I love tubing, especially when there is a lot of snow! We found a small jump that, if you got a running start, you could hit it pretty good. I think Mom really likes the snow scooter.

Cole and I had a great Christmas and I am pretty sure Jake had a good one too. We did have to shovel a lot of snow Christmas Day, which I don't think we've had to do in a while.

The New Convertible Mustang!!

So, Cole got him a new convertible mustang! He was so excited about it and even more so that it's a convertible. He got it for a work vehicle to save money on gas. It needed a new transmission which he got for 1/2 the price on ebay. He was the mechanic on the job and my garage was the shop (not the first time). His sidekick, Jake, loved hanging out with him while he was working!

Lava Hot Springs

We went to Lava in the middle of July with Cole's sister and her family. We go camping there every year and always have a great time. There is a "hot rock" along the river where water from the natural hot springs comes out and runs into the river. It is the place to hang out when you come back from tubing the river. Cole brought our knee board and tied it to the bridge so the kids could knee board in the river wake. I look forward to this camping trip every year!

Pine View Dam

Poor Cole!!

Cole broke his heel bone at work about a month ago at work. He lost his balance on a ladder and jumped to avoid falling on his head. We didn't think to much of it until we saw the specialist. He informed us that Cole would need surgery since he broke his heel in 3 places. The surgery went really well, a plate and 7 screws later! The heel bone is pretty hard to break and very painful. So he has been home for 4 weeks now and has been in a lot of pain. Jake has been his company at home while I am at work. He has started feeling a lot better and has been more active this last week. He will be going back to work next week so we will see how that goes. He can get his cast wet so we went to the pool last weekend which was fun for both of us! I have been a very good wife if I do say so myself!!

Dinosaur Tracks in Moab

I forgot to put this picture in my Moab post. If you look close you can see 2 Dinosaur tracks in the rock--one at the top and one at the bottom. There were actually 4 tracks in a row but I could only get 2 in the picture. Pretty cool!

We had a wonderful time in Moab this year! We live in a beautiful state! There are so many amazing rock formations it's unreal. We went on 2 really fun rides and watched some jeeps go down and back up a really steep rock. Lots of fun!

Does this house look familiar to any of the Lucas clan? Me and Kristen and my mom went to San Diego in March 2007. Kristen and I really wanted to go by Grandma and Grandpa's old house in Brea. The house looks pretty run down, nothing like it was when Grandma and Grandpa lived there. Their old neighbor (I can't remember her name, but mom or Leslie might know) was out working in her yard when we stopped by, so mom and Leslie visited with her while Kristen and I took turns posing in front of the house for a picture. So many fun memories at that house!

Cole and I had a wonderful Christmas! I got a ticket to High School Musical for August with all the girls, which will be fun!
We had fun playing scum on Christmas. Cole was sleeping on the couch (his favorite spot). I like Megan's pimp hat the best!
